Plans for building a lathe (digital download)

$18.00

The plans consist of a detailed drawing of each part, all the accessories we make in the video series, and many photos of the build process. The plans have both ANSI and Metric dimensions.

There are a few items you may want to purchase if you don’t have them already. Examples of these items with links can be found in the description below.

The video series explains many of the details as I build the lathe, and will make a great supplement to the plans if you haven’t already seen it:

Here are some items you will need to build the lathe:

(Clicking on a picture below will take you to the Amazon page where you can purchase the product. I do not sell these items myself, but if you start with the link on this page, anything you buy helps support the YouTube channel).

Sample V-Belt

You could use this one, but I recommend you measure the distance between the motor and your lathe center before deciding on a belt size. It depends on your motor setup. Your Pulleys can be purchased or made of wood. The sizes vary depending on your motor speed so I don’t want to recommend a specific one.

Pillow Block bearing (some type of bearing is required)

These items would also be helpful but are not required to build the lathe:

Lathe Chuck

Morse Taper Adapter

T-Track
